Q + A

When/ where is the wedding?

Our wedding will take place on July 28, 2026, at the beautiful Château de Villersexel. This stunning and historic castle is located in the charming town of Villersexel in northeastern France. It holds special meaning for us as it is the family château of Thibault’s sister’s fiancé, who will also be wed there a few days before us. We feel so grateful to be celebrating such an important moment in a place that is not only breathtaking, but personally meaningful. We just know you will all fall in love with its stunning architecture and rich history.

How do you get to Villersexel from the airport?

From the EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, it is 111km/ 69 miles (roughly a 1hr 22 minute drive).

Do I need a visa to travel to France?

U.S. citizens do not need a visa for stays under 90 days. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. U.S. citizens must have at least one blank page for stamps. All non-U.S. citizens should research if visas are required for entry. For example, citizens of El Salvador and Honduras with U.S permanent residency still do need visas (ETIAS/ European Travel Information and Authorization System) to enter France.

What’s the best way to get to the venue?

The nearest major airport is EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg which sits at the border between Switzerland and France. From there, you can rent a car straight from the airport; the office is located on Level 2 of Hall 1. There are plenty of options: Avis/Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, and Sixt. You can take the A35 tollroad, but must pay with your card to pass through. There are also options to avoid tolls.

Where should I stay?

We’ve listed a few recommended hotels and rentals nearby on the Travel page.

What is the dress code?

Black tie and formal attire is encouraged. We are thrilled to see our guests dress up and have fun! Please keep in mind the weather and terrain — we recommend lighter fabrics.

Is this an adults-only event?

We kindly request no children at the wedding. We hope you can understand. There will be a lot of beautiful, cultural elements that we believe are best suited for adults to enjoy.

What should I do in the area?

France is beautiful with so much culture! On the Things to Do page, you’ll find our favorite restaurants, wineries, and sightseeing suggestions.

When should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP by 01/28/2026 so that we may finalize our plans. Once posted, you will be able to do this directly on the RSVP page.
